Your programme is divided into three modules which start with attendance sessions providing hands-on training and essential theory in the safe and supportive environment of our dedicated Training Centre near Birmingham. The best way to refine your existing skills, learn new procedures and develop strategies to avoid unnecessary complications:
- Module 1: Small Animal Gastroenterology, Urology & Critical Care
- Module 2: Small Animal Endocrinology, Immunology & Cardiorespiratory Medicine
- Module 3: Small Animal Medical Subspecialities
Practical attendance sessions:
- Module 1: 24th – 26th September 2025 (3 days)
- Module 2: 21st – 23rd January 2026 (3 days)
- Module 3: 20th – 22nd May 2026 (3 days)
You’ll combine these structured attendance sessions with work-based reflective learning. During each module, you’ll complete self-directed learning and a reflective portfolio (case logs, critically reflective essays, case-based discussions and reflective case reports) that will be assessed by your tutor. You’ll receive plenty of help and guidance on how to write your assessments and feedback on draft work from your tutor.

The investment in this 12 month programme to achieve your PGCert is £11,447 + VAT. This includes all of your practical training, online resources and support. Payment options are available.
You also need to register with the University. The registration fee is £2750 (no VAT applies) for UK students. The registration fee for EU/International students is £4400.*

Applicants for this study route must hold a veterinary degree and have at least 2 years postgraduate clinical experience. Applicants must have access to suitable veterinary clinical cases to facilitate work-based learning reflections during the programme. UK-based applicants must be on the RCVS UK Practising Register. EU/International applicants who are not RCVS Members will need to satisfy the English Language proficiency requirements of the University of Central Lancashire (www.lancashire.ac.uk/international-students/english-requirements).
