After a period in small animal practice, Nick completed a residency in small animal medicine at the University of Cambridge, where he gained both the RCVS and European Diplomas. He remained at Cambridge as a medicine clinician for several years, and then undertook a PhD to study the aetiology of canine chronic hepatitis. He moved to the University of Nottingham in 2014 where he was Clinical Associate Professor in Small Animal Medicine and Oncology. He returned to Cambridge in 2018, and is Clinical Director of Small Animal Services. He undertakes clinical work and research, and is interested in all aspects of small animal internal medicine. He is active in undergraduate and postgraduate education and has further qualification in medical education.
