Advance15TM Courses help you to develop your knowledge and clinical skills in a defined area of small animal practice. These fully flexible online courses include tutor support and interaction via an interactive discussion forum you can ask questions and join the discussion at any time, wherever you are in the world. There are no ‘real time’ sessions that you need to be available for, so this course is suitable for you whatever your time zone. All of your course materials are all recorded, and you have full access for a 12 month period. The course runs for a four week period, and you’ll get tutor support for a further 2 weeks in case you need to catch up. After that, you’ll still have full access although the tutor support will end. Complete your learning and get your CPD Certificate for 15 Hours of CPD.

Through the use of videos and images this course will aim to provide a clear approach to improving our rehabilitation skills. It will focus on which patients in practice could benefit from rehabilitation therapy and provide a practical guide on how to start introducing rehabilitation techniques simply and efficiently into day to day practice.

The course will review basic rehabilitation techniques such as massage and exercise therapy and their role in the treatment of our orthopaedic and neurological cases. It will also consider why our patients fail to improve and what can be done to improve our outcomes.

Webinar 1 and 2: How do I approach the orthopaedic patient  part 1-and 2: Common conditions, when to start, what influences our programme

 Week 2

Webinar 1: How do I approach the neurological patient – Common conditions, when to start, what influences our programme

 Webinar 2: A practical approach to manual therapy and range of motion exercises – Soft tissue techniques, stretching, passive and active range of motion, goniometry use

 Week 3

Webinar 1: Trouble shooting Therapeutic Exercises – The role of therapeutic exercises, How to implement them in practice, functional vs static exercises

 Webinar 2: A practical approach to thermotherapy and electrotherapy

 Week 4

Webinar 1: A practical guide on how to introduce rehabilitation into practice – which clients to I approach? what equipment do I need, how do I set up my consult room,  how to integrate it into nurse clinics, how will I help patient outcomes

 Webinar 2: The patient is not improving – where do I go – Communication, compliance, Pain management, what else is going on?, assessing and measuring outcomes
