Surgical Treatment of Chronic Ear Disease
The first session in this series is dedicated to ear surgery in the dog and cat. We’ll examine the different surgical procedures step by step, as well as the indications, complications and outcome of each procedure.

- Indications of when to perform a lateral wall resection
- Indications of when to perform a total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy
- Indications of when to perform a ventral bulla osteotomy
- How to perform each procedure step by step, with plenty of video footage
Take a Dip into the Chest and Lose the Fear!
In this session we’ll look at thoracic surgery, beginning with how to get into the thorax by a lateral thoracotomy or a sternotomy. Once in the thorax, we’ll focus on surgical pulmonary diseases and how to perform a lung lobectomy safely.
What you’ll learn:
- How to surgically access the thorax
- Lateral thoracotomy
- Sternotomy
- Aetiology, diagnosis and treatment of surgical pulmonary disease
- Lung lobe torsion

In the final session we’ll take an in depth look at gall bladder disease and how to surgically remove a gall bladder. We’ll also discuss the surgical treatment of extrahepatic portosystemic shunts.

- How to manage a patient with gall bladder disease, especially gall bladder mucocele
- How to perform a cholecystectomy, step by step
