Which teeth should I extract: the decision making process in tooth extraction
This session will cover the initial consultation, the conscious and unconscious examination and how dental radiography is used. The session will help you to identify how teeth are affected by dental pathology and how this is best managed.
What you’ll learn:

- Dental charting a decision making regarding extraction
- An overview of dental radiography
Extraction techniques in cats including local anaesthetic techniques
This session will look at dental pathology in cats and how this affects tooth extraction. The session will cover specific techniques used in cats, including how to assess Tooth Resorption and how and when to use a crown amputation.
What you’ll learn:
- Feline tooth extraction
- Local anaesthesia
- Feline dental radiography
- Tooth Resorption and crown amputation
Extraction techniques in dogs including local anaesthetic techniques
This session will look at indications for extractions in dogs and the principals of effective tooth extraction. There will also be a step-by-step guide as to how to extract all the major teeth in dogs.
What you’ll learn:
- Local anaesthesia
- Closed extraction including luxation techniques
- Surgical extractions including creation of a mucoperiosteal flap, alveolectomy and elevation techniques
