Session 1
Trauma surgery and respiratory emergencies
The first part of this webinar will provide a holistic approach to stabilisation and assessment of the trauma patient including prioritisation of injuries. We will also cover surgical management of trauma cases such as oropharyngeal stick injuries and diaphragmatic ruptures. The second part will look at assessment and stabilisation of respiratory emergencies such as brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome and laryngeal paralysis including surgical decision making and placement and care of temporary tracheostomy tubes.

Emergency Surgery of the Gastrointestinal Tract
This webinar aims to provide an overview of the diagnosis and management (pre-, intra- and post-operative) of common gastrointestinal emergencies such as gastric dilatation and volvulus, intestinal foreign bodies, septic peritonitis and biliary surgery.

Blocked Bladders and Bleeding Spleens – Emergency Surgery of the Abdomen
This webinar will cover diagnosis and management of common abdominal emergencies (excluding those of the gastrointestinal tract) such as a haemoabdomen and obstruction of both the upper and lower urinary tract (including new techniques for ureteral obstructions and tips and tricks for difficult urethral obstructions). We will also discuss techniques for temporary urinary diversion.
