Surgery of the eyelids

This webinar will explain the basic rules and requirments for eyelid surgery and will help to create the ideal set-up for successful ocular adnexal surgery. Different surgical techniques oft he eyelids will be explained with many photographs and drawings to help understand the procedures.

  • Surgical instruments and suture material for eyelid surgery
  • Basic principles of eyelid surgery
  • Surgical techniques for ectopic cilia, neoplasia and traumata of the eyelids
  • Surgical techniques for makroblepharon and ectropion
  • Surgical techniques for entropion (temporary correction)
Session 2: Wednesday 18th September 2019   12pm-2pm (UK time)

Surgery of the eyelids and conjunctiva

This webinar will complete the surgical techniques for entropion surgeries, focusing on permanent techniques. Basic rules and requirements for conjunctival surgery are explained before specific surgical techniques will be shown in detail.

Surgery of the cornea and principles of intraocular surgery

This webinar will explain the basic rules and requirements for corneal and intraocular surgery. Different corneal surgeries are explained and demonstrated in photographs and drawings. Intraocular surgery and its indications are explained so that clinicians can advise their clients what to expect when such a surgery becomes necessary.

What you’ll learn:

  • Surgical instruments and suture material for corneal surgery
  • Basic principles of corneal surgery
  • Surgical techniques: removal of corneal foreing bodies, closing corneal lacerations, keratotomy, lamellar keratectomy, stabilizing stromal corneal defects
  • Principles of intraocular surgery
  • Surgical techniques: lens surgery for lens luxation and cataracts
