Session 1: Monday 4th September 2023   3-5pm (UK time)

Approach and diagnosis of the extraction case

An insight into the diagnostic workup of an extraction case, from case presentation, clinical signs and rider presentation through to extraction preparation. This session will breakdown your diagnostic imaging tools and their application to achieve an accurate diagnosis. We will encompass the analgesic and anaesthetic protocols to work alongside the extraction.

Basics of the oral cheek tooth extraction

A systematic and surgical approach to the oral extraction of an equine cheek tooth. Starting with the essential extraction equipment and its application through to tricks and tips towards a successful extraction. Case examples will be discussed.

Session 3: Monday 2nd October   3-5pm (UK time)

Complications of tooth extractions

A look into how we approach complications that occur pre, during and post oral extraction. We will also look at the normal management of the post extraction case and preventative procedures. We will also touch on the advanced extraction cases and the techniques utilised in the complicated cases or when things go wrong.
