Session 1: Thursday 16th January 2025

What Imaging Modality, When?

This lecture will discuss the decision to employ one imaging modality over another taking into consideration costs, diagnostic yield and the merits and pitfalls of Xray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. We will delve in to the importance of report writing and the descriptive languages of imaging and touch on the appropriate prescription of serial imaging.

Session 2: Thursday 30th January 2025

An Introduction to Abdominal Ultrasound.

This lecture will focus on a highly useful imaging modality in the general practice which is often now considered an extension of the clinical examination. Following a particle of physics and a discussion on commonly observed artefacts and patient preparation, we will learn how to perform a complete systematic abdominal ultrasound, step by step.

Session 3: Thursday 13th February 2025

Imaging the Emergency Patient

In this lecture, we will aim to discuss the merits of application of various imaging modalities in common emergency and critical care scenarios. We will delve in to the important radiographic views for a variety of conditions and learn how to employ POCUS (point of care ultrasound) techniques, abdominal fluid scoring (AFS) and discuss the merits of serial imaging
