Small Animal ENT Surgery
Surgical procedures of the Ear, Nose and Throat are commonly performed in first opinion small animal practice. During this highly practical course, you’ll learn essential theory for effective decision-making, implementation and to put the procedures in context. You’ll practise the surgical techniques under the guidance of highly experienced and approachable tutors in extensive ‘hands-on’ practical wet-lab sessions. Gain the confidence and skills you need to manage your patients effectively.

- Ear disease and the role of surgery
- Lateral wall resection technique
- Total ear canal ablation / lateral bulla osteotomy (TECA/LBO)
- Management of inflammatory nasopharyngeal and aural polyps
- Ventral bulla osteotomy (VBO) in the cat
- Management of Laryngeal paralysis and collapse
- Cricoarytenoid lateralisation (‘tie-back’ surgery)
- Emergency tracheostomy tube placement
- Treatment of stenotic nares
- Rhinoplasty
- Diseases of the salivary glands
- Mandibular and Sub-lingual Sialoadenectomy
