Advanced Practical Endoscopy
£3,047.00 (+VAT)
This a new, highly practical advanced endoscopy course designed for experienced clinicians looking to extend their diagnostic and interventional skills. Focused on optimising technique, tackling more complex cases and expanding the range of endoscopic procedures you can confidently offer in practice.
Advanced Practical Endoscopy
Building from your current endoscopy skills, this course will help you to optimise the use of endoscopy in the work-up and investigation of your small animal patients, particularly those more challenging cases.
Endoscopy is a fantastic diagnostic and therapeutic modality, and can allow you to reach a definitive diagnosis in many cases without resorting to more invasive surgical procedures, thus minimising stress for the patient, the owner and yourself! The practical handling sessions will allow you to apply your new knowledge of endoscopic procedures in a safe setting, thus giving you the confidence to then take those skills back to your clinical work. At the end of the course you will be better equipped to offer an effective range of endoscopic procedures to your patients.
You will also receive a free copy of ‘Veterinary Image – Guided Interventions’ by Chick Weisse and Allyson Berent with an RRP of £144.00
What you’ll learn:
- Types of equipment (endoscopes, biopsy forceps, sampling accessories)
- How to make the most of the equipment and facilities you already have, including patient preparation and peri-operative patient monitoring
- Refresh the basic principles of endoscopic examination of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts, including taking endoscopic biopsies and bronchoalveolar lavage samples
- Practical sessions covering more advanced endoscopic techniques such oesophageal, gastric and respiratory foreign-body removal, PEG-tube placement, and cystoscopy in the bitch
- Video presentations and in-person discussions of normal and abnormal endoscopic findings
